Spanish lesson at Inaquita market today

Carina teaching us vocabulary
This morning we asked our Spanish teacher to go to Inaquita market with us for our Spanish lesson. She is a sweet-heart and she put up with us, as we asked lots of questions about the variety of foods available in the market and how to prepare them and eat them. We tried not to embarass her...

Hay muchos jugos!
They make great fresh juices here.

You can buy your potatoes already peeled, if you wish!
I'm beginning to see the whole Danish Christmas dinner is available here, including the "flaeskesteg" (roast pork, with crispy skin). OK, I don't think the Danes roast the whole pig - but the pork rind does look good. We have not tried it yet.

Carina said these are free-range chickens, hence their darker colour.

We're 5 hours from the sea, but fresh fish and seafood is also available.

Camomile, nettle, herbs and spices for whaterever ails you.

Fresh pork
In the end, we bought, zanahoria (carrots), aguacate (avocado), papaya, oritos (tiny bananas) and freses (strawberries).
Every market has an altar in this very Catholic country.

It was a great day. We learned lots!
