Intersections

Toronto's got squeegee kids, but Quito's got street performers! Now that we  can get around more easily, in our car, we will post more pictures of these street performers that strut their stuff, entertaining drivers and passengers waiting for the light to change. This young man was juggling 4 pins while unicycling at  one intersection on Sunday. We have seen fire-eaters, mimes and jugglers. One friend even told us about a tightrope walker who, as soon as the light turned red, put up a rope and walked back and forth across the stopped lanes of traffic and took it all down before the light changed to green.
FYI you may not turn "right on a red" in Quito, so they do have a captive audience.
On many streets corners there are also women, men and children selling everything from newspapers to sunshades for your car to chewing gum and candy to apples and oranges. I even saw someone selling Rubriks cubes last week!
