My workspace...

s

This is my work space - office and resource room combined. My job is to support students and teachers to ensure that all students achieve their academic potential. I cover grades 5-12, so scheduling is tricky with Elementary, Middle and High School schedules to consider. I have 11 students on IEPs, most typically for minor Learning Disabilities, and 2 Accommodation Plans, for students with Attention Deficit Disorder. I also work with about 10 Highly Able students from grades 4-10. We do not identify students as gifted, but if we did, they would be identified. I work with an incredible Special Services team that includes one other Spec. Ed. teacher, who acts as the Spec. Services coordinator, 2 paraprofessionals (who do most of the paperwork and filing, as well as work with students according to what we ask them to do), one assistant, one school psychologist/counsellor, and two other school counsellors. I have been spending most of my time cleaning my room and purging junk/student work, etc. that had been accumulated there over the past  8 years, as well as familiarizing myself with student files. Today was the first day of school for the students - a great student body and faculty and staff!
