...along the Ruta de Cascadas. The descent from Baños to Tena is from 1800 m to 600 m and the road follows the river with spectacular cliffs and waterfalls. We took a detour once we reached the Napo river, which eventually flows into the Amazon, to get a little river trip and lunch. You may notice that we were able to shed our rain jackets and scarves once we descended from the mountains and clouds of Baños.
