7 weeks holidays, Alberta & Ontario

Summer 2013, following a heat wave from Alberta via Ontario to Scandinavia.

Choosing a few pictures from seven weeks travels to Alberta, Ontario, Denmark and Sweden, well not impossible, but difficult for sure.
We had a fantastic trip to visit the kids and friends and family, even with a foot broken on the very first evening in Calgary.
Last visit to Entwistle before Torsten, Kelly and Amelia move on to new adventures in Myanmar.

Whale and Blue Footed Boobies Safari

After returning to Ecuador, we unpacked and packed and drove right away down to the coast. Stayed in small fishing village, Puerto Lopez. A full day trip out on the high seas (they were high in a 30 foot boat with 300HP outboards) to spot Humpback Whales, that are migrating past this stretch of coast every July and August. We spend some time on Isla Del Plata, (silver island, named after the grayish-whitish colour of all the guano), there were thousands of blue Footed Boobies, just getting ready for mating season , and totally unimpressed by humans. Big colonies of Frigate birds also, they can not dive as they have no oil in their feathers, so instead they scoop fish from the surface while flying.

7 Weeks holidays, Danmark

Denmark showed itself from the absolute best side this summer holiday for us. After more than 2 years, longest  I have ever been between trips to home country, that was very kind.
We met Serge, Sarah's chosen one (and vise versa) for the first time, a pleasure to get to know him as a nice young gentleman. We attended Sarah's graduation after she defended her Masters. The main objectives for the trip in addition to be with family, including meeting Helle and the two new generation family members, Ebbe and Mona and the old gang of friends.
